This print was conceived prior to exposure of and research on children soldiers. Cultural Thievery discusses a child's culture and identity being stolen from them, once captured by guerrilla war activists. thus, creating carbon copies of child soldiers. 

this image originates from a film photograph by Jan Schlegel. girl pictured is Nale who lives in Ethiopia in a village along the Omo river. She is the daughter of an elder
